Bio
Ebony Nicole is a National Certified Forensic Trauma Specialist, Licensed Masters Social Worker in the state of Delaware, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Life Coach.
As a practitioner she assists children, adolescents, and adults with trauma, daily stress, anxiety, depression, and substance use disorder.
Ebony is a native of South Philadelphia and is no stranger to trauma. Abuse and homelessness as a teenager left her wanting to do more by meeting the needs of others by opening her home, advocating, and providing food. Because Ebony was not afforded an opportunity to address her trauma as a teen and young adult, she vowed to help those in the foster care system before becoming a loving and caring mother to her two children Mahya and Mark.
In 2020, Ebony founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Heart to Hearts, Inc where her mission simply is “homeless prevention”. She started the organization during COVID when she learned of the high eviction rates as well as schools canceling their summer lunch programs.
In 2021 Ebony founded Bridging the Gap Life Coaching, LLC where she specializes in empowerment. She encourages and empowers individuals, couples, and organizations to bridge the gap between what's happening in their reality and identifying a place of resolve. She also offers training workshops to organizations that help to educate, encourage, and develop their staff. Ebony’s work extends to mental health, substance abuse, and at-risk youth. She continues to bring change in the Philadelphia and tri-state areas by hosting trauma workshops and autistic support, through the work she does at Project Elijah Empowering Autism, where she is the Vice President.
"Do not go where the path may lead. Instead, go where there is no path and leave a trail"
There is nothing I find more gratifying than empowering people to discover their inner essence, purpose, and highest potential. The journey had to start with me. The more I learned about my trauma, the more I learned about myself and how to find peace and balance. Without the lived experiences of my personal journey, I found it difficult and impossible to help others.
My experiences not only helps me to relate and connect with others, but also allows me to bridge the gap of distrust that manifests after experiencing trauma.
